Study Unit 4..........Hey, hey!

 Study Unit 4..........Hey, hey!

The last time that I wrote my blog, I was in the middle of a very hard, stressful and emotional two weeks. This week........I AM BACK!!  I am feeling a million times better and more relaxed.  The workload has not lessened but it is spread out more evenly again, and also I have just spent four glorious days in Cape Town with my family........its definitely the little things that count the most.  This week I have been able to pace myself well, so would say that things are feeling pretty good with regards to my studies.

I must admit, I think that this study unit was my favorite......I love to find out different ways to make learning integrated, fun, and something that children look forward to,,,,,things that trick them into learning without them even realising that, that is what they are doing.  I really loved the videos of the teachers using music as a tool to teach maths and syllables at the same time, and I was so motivated after watching Mr Mac allowing the learners to use making music to instill a love for maths......that guy is a teaching genius! I also really loved how he found a way to connect with his learners at their level. Amazing.

To the people who say that arts integration is a waste of time......I would tell them that I feel sorry for them!  They are missing out on something that is so easy to utilise, while having fun and creating joy just because they have probably never experienced it before.  Humans were made to be creative, that is why it means so much to us.  It is a way to relieve stress, express ourselves, create pleasure, bring us together, and it triggers an emotional response in us.

I found it extremely interesting that we can we can use arts integration to enhance ones understanding of many different, non-music related subjects.  I enjoyed learning that, multi-arts experiences develops many important cognitive skills and abilities.  What I found challenging was to try to keep in mind that arts integration is not just music in the classroom, it incorporates all the arts - music, drama, creative arts....these can all be used to our advantage when teaching our learners.

Anyhoo.....that's my blog for this week.....my group an I are busy with our assignment and I am EXCITED! ⭐
